  I highly recommend finding a different bank for your banking needs. Key bank is the absolute WORST bank in the world and doesn't care at all about its customers. My paypal account recently attempted to make a withdraw from my account but there were not enough funds. While I realize this was my fault (I was out of town without internet, unable to check my balance, and a deposit that I thought had cleared apparently wasn't available for withdraw), keybank ended up charging me $216 in overdraft fees. When I called to ask how it could be possible to end up with $216 in fees, they stated that they continued to attempt to pay paypal for 6 days before I caught the error (keep in mind that I had account alerts set so that I SHOULD have received an email when my balance went below $100. Conveniently for them, it took six days for them to send that alert email.) When I explained the situation to the woman on the phone, she explained that their policy is to charge $36 for every overdraft charge without exception. That's funny, because I really only had ONE charge that would have overdrawn my account, WHICH THEY DIDN'T EVEN PAY! When I asked to speak to a supervisor (as I understand that most customer service people don't have the power to make exceptions) the woman said that she talked to her supervisor but that her supervisor refused to talk to me on the phone. I have never been so disappointed in a corporation in my life. Needless to say I immediately opened a TCF account for which I received $50 for opening the account and a free first set of checks, two things which I never received from key bank.

  If you want to find a bank that almost gave you the false information without looking into their policy unless you strongly request a confirmation, if you want to find a bank that has rude stuff keep asking whether you are opening the account to get the bonus, then go to the Keybank, they surely won't let you "down". I end up not opening the account with $200 bonus, because I don't want to be dealing with a bank like that even if they offer $200 free money. Citi, BOA, Chase, UMCU or anything else would be my choice above the Keybank. Most horrible experience ever when trying to open a new account...

  Key is a very hard bank to work with. We've been trying to buy a home through them and the customer service is a joke. No one replies to emails or calls, when they do its with incorrect or confusing information, and the service is just a joke. Don't waste your time or money dealing with these idiots. Go to a smaller bank or a credit union where you will actually get some service.
